Meet your coach
Hi, I'm Kaya

How I got here
For eleven years I helped companies decide what mattered. I was good at it. By the end, I was running on four hours’ sleep and answering emails from a hospital car park.
What changed things was someone asking what I actually wanted, then giving me time to answer.
I trained because I wanted to offer that same space to someone else. Nine years on, the work is still about asking the harder question and staying with the pause that follows.
Off The Clock
First thing in the morning
Coffee, outside, no phone for an hour.
The practice I actually keep
A twenty-minute walk with no podcast.
Where I think best
On a train, facing backwards.
Always in my bag
A notebook I will never fill.
On my bedside table
Mary Oliver, read twice, still underlining.
What I am learning
To let a silence run longer than feels polite.
Guilty pleasure
Reality television, entirely unrepentant.
Sunday looks like
Bread, a long bath, nothing scheduled.
How the work goes
Four steps, no surprises
Nothing here is a funnel. You can stop after any of them.
One
Reach out
Tell me roughly what is going on. A paragraph is plenty - you do not need the tidy version.
Two
The fit call
Thirty minutes, free, no pitch. We both decide, and I will say so if I am not the right person.
Three
The work
Fortnightly sessions, small practices in between, and somewhere to put all of it while it settles.
Four
Afterwards
A written map of what we found, and a standing door if you want to come back in a year.

Questions people ask
How do I know if coaching is the right thing?
If you keep arriving at the same decision and leaving without making it, coaching helps. If what you actually need is a diagnosis, a doctor or a lawyer, it does not, and I will say so on the fit call rather than take your money.
What actually happens in a session?
You talk, mostly. I ask questions and occasionally point out a pattern you have described three times without noticing. We finish with one thing you are actually going to do, small enough that you will.
How long do people usually work with you?
Twelve weeks is the common shape. Some people come for one ninety-minute session and that is genuinely enough. A few stay a year. I would rather you left when the work is done than kept a standing appointment out of habit.
Is this therapy?
No. Therapy tends to work backwards into why; coaching works forwards into what now. They sit well together and plenty of my clients do both. I am not qualified to do the first and I will not pretend otherwise.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, on everything over a single session, split across the length of the work at no extra cost. Ask on the fit call - it is a normal question and nobody has ever made it awkward except themselves.
What if it is not working?
Tell me, ideally in the session rather than by email three weeks later. We either change how we are working or we stop, and if we stop I will refund what has not been used. That is written into the agreement, not just a nice thing I say here.
