This takes about twelve minutes and it works best written by hand, on a Friday afternoon, before the week has finished blurring.
The five questions
What actually happened this week? Facts only, no interpretation. Most of us skip straight to the story.
Where did I spend energy I did not mean to spend? This is usually a conversation you rehearsed rather than a task you did.
What did I avoid? Name it plainly. Avoidance costs more than the thing avoided, every time.
What went better than I expected? The week will not volunteer this. You have to ask.
What is the one thing next week needs from me? One. Not a list.
The point is not the answers. It is that the week gets closed rather than left running in the background all weekend.
